Counties Manukau Serious Crash Unit is looking for anyone with information regarding a fatal crash on Waiuku Road, near Douglas Road, at around 8pm on Wednesday 23 March 2016 to come forward.
Of particular interest is a dark coloured Subaru, which was seen in the area around the time of the crash. The occupants of this vehicle may have vital information to assist with enquiries.
A Toyota Hilux and Mitsubishi Pajero were travelling in opposite directions on Waiuku Road when they collided.
The 31-year-old male driver of the Hilux died at the scene. His name will not be released until all next-of-kin have been notified.
The 64-year-old driver of the other vehicle was taken to Middlemore Hospital but has since been released.
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
