At approximately 2.40pm today a man with a mask and knife entered Allendale Superette and demanded money.
The man was seen riding a bicycle down Olympic Drive before coming into the store where he presented a knife to the owner and his wife.
The man is described a Maori in his mid-twenties, wearing a blue hoodie and black pants. He had a black towel covering his face.
After he left the store he rode his bike down the walkway along Olympic Drive towards the lake.
