Queenstown Police are investigating the single vehicle crash which has left a young woman in a critical but stable condition in Dunedin Public Hospital.
Police are appealing for the public’s help again as we continue to establish the circumstances in which she was injured.
The woman was involved in a crash which occurred in the early hours of the 13 March 2019 on Gorge Road, Queenstown.
The vehicle she was in crashed and was left suspended upside down against the rear wall of the Gorge Road retail centre.
One of the occupants of the vehicle has told police that after the crash he has been dazed but remembers walking back into Queenstown where he obtained a lift from the driver of a heavy motor vehicle – possibly a rubbish truck.
The truck took the occupant from near the ASB Bank on Camp Street in the CBD to the Arrowtown Junction, at the intersection with SH6.
We hope the driver of the truck will remember picking up this man - who is described as dark-skinned and aged in his mid-20’s, who had suffered leg and head injuries in the crash.
This would have occurred sometime after 5:00am on 13 March 2019.
Police would like to speak to the driver of the truck and are asking that they contact Detective Matt Jones of the Queenstown Police on (03) 441 1600.
