Cyclone Gabrielle

On 14 February 2023, the New Zealand Government declared a National State of Emergency, to assist in the response to Cyclone Gabrielle. The lead agency is the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) who operate out of the National Crisis Management Centre (NCMC).

Across the country, Police are supporting emergency response groups, including evacuating people to safety, managing road closures and hazards and investigating reports of people who are unaccounted for.
