In Budget 2025, we were provided funding for the Police Enterprise Resource Management System Upgrade Programme Phase One.
This initiative will enable the upgrade of New Zealand Police’s core systems to resilient, modern, cloud-based alternatives, ensuring Police can continue to deliver reliable services to the public and avoid the potential of system failure. Phase One of the Enterprise Resource Management Programme replaces Police’s Human Resources, Payroll and Workforce Management systems.
How will we show our progress:
- Implementation Business Case approved by Cabinet by February 2026
- Key vendor/s contract/s signed by April 2026
- Go-live of Workforce Management, Human Resources and Payroll applications by December 2027
- Reduction of administrative costs by 30% by June 2028
- Reduce Risk to Police Service Delivery and Compliance 50% by June 2029 as indicated by the number of P1, P2 and P3 system issues
- Improved availability and quality of information by 20% by June 2029, primarily measured via the volumes of corrections in Payroll
